Evaluating Genotype × Environment Interactions of Yield Traits and Adaptability in Rice Cultivars Grown under Temperate, Subtropical and Tropical Environments

Rice yield is a complex trait that strongly affected by environment and genotype × interaction (GEI) effects. Consideration of GEI in diverse environments facilitates the accurate identification optimal genotypes with high performance, which are adaptable to specific or environments. In this study, multiple trials were conducted evaluate grain (GY) four yield-component traits: panicle length, number, spikelet number per panicle, thousand-grain weight. Eighty-nine rice varieties cultivated temperate, subtropical, tropical regions for two years. The effects both (12.4–19.6%) (23.6–69.6%) significantly contributed variation all traits. addition, 37.1% GY was explained GEI, indicating performance different environmental conditions. stability evaluated using simultaneous selection indexing, 19 desirable identified productivity broad adaptability across These could be recommended cultivation as elite parents breeding programs improve potential general climates.
